Download and save this installation to your PC desktop - connect your iPaq to your PC - double click (run) the installation file and follow the installation instructions. When the install has finished there may be a dialogue on the iPaq screen asking to overwrite files - select "YES TO ALL"

NOTE: You will need to re-select your "Home Airport" and glider "Polar" when you first use WinPilot after the data installation.

Self installing - UK data only 2007 (OK for hi-res PDA's)

UK data only 2007 (winpilot_UK_data_only_06.exe - 4mb) -- All UK Data only -- 2007 TP's & airspace, terrain file, European aviation database, NOTE : this will transfer data to your PDA - it will not change your winpilot setup - after installation you will need to go to your PDA and into winpilot simulator, then "menu"-"files" and select each new data file.

None of your original settings should be changed - I hope !

WinPilot installation software

The following downloads will self-install the WinPilot software - first copy them to your PC, then make sure your PC is connected to your Palmtop, then run the installation programme from your PC. Once the WinPilot software is installed you can select the a Data installation file below and install the Data. Please read the manual to find out how to select Your "Home airfield" and glider "Polar"

Self-installing data files for your Palmtop (not for XP LITE)

The following downloads will self-install just like the WinPilot software installation - They should make it easy to update your WinPilot data and to automatically setup your WinPilot system with typical settings. Each Install file contains country specific Terrain Map, Aviation Database, 70 Glider Polars, Waypoint Files, User Airspace files and WinPilot Setup Files.

First you need to Install the WinPilot software (see above), make sure Winpilot simulator is NOT running then You can install then install the following data that You require. During the installation there may be a dialogue on the iPaq screen asking to overwrite files - select "YES TO ALL".

NOTE: You will need to re-select your "Home Airport" and glider "Polar" when you first use WinPilot after the data installation.

Individual Data files - copy to Palmtop manually

This section contains indivividual data file that need to be copied to manually from your PC to the "My Documents" folder on your Palmtop - To activate them you need to go into WinPilot Simulator and select the relevant files

Some Tips on downloading file's

Quite often you have to "Right Click" and select "Save as" to successfully download data files. Windows and Internet Explorer have a nasty habit of adding a ".txt" to the end of the downloaded file name, e.g. LS8.PLR becomes LS8.PLR.TXT - not ideal because it won't be recognised by WinPilot !. To avoid this problem when downloading files ( from anywhere on the internet ) - when you get the windows "Save file as" dialogue box make sure the "File type" option is set as "All files" NOT "Text Documents".
